19 MAY Sherman is OPEN

    Spoke to Bob Fernes says this morning (Thursday 830AM 19 MAY) Sherman Pass Road from lower Kern River is OPEN to the SNOWCAT ... where there is snow! Road and trail are unplowed for at least past 2 weeks. There are lots of trees fallen on the trails.

    Road from 395 to Blackrock station is open BUT no snow for miles with access gates to Sherman PASS closed.

    ahhh, bad info from the front office again? Bob is the one who would know what's open.
    Ok, so heck with the long ride to Mammoth, looks like Sherman is back on.... I'll be up there by 9am on Saturday

    I will be there Saturday at 9:00 am, hope we can get around or over the tree.

    How big is the tree? Ax, chainsaw, or shovel snow over the top?

    Tree, their should be more snow this week end maybe shovel over like Don said, i too have chain saw to help cut if needed

    Leaving for Lake Isabella now !!!

    Will be at thrail head Saturday morning 21 May!
