my wife and I drove up today and tried to ride but the pow was too deep for her, she doesn't ride too well if she cant steer her sled with the skis. the pow was 1 1/2 ft to 2 ft deep and fairly heavy , I got stuck once about 2 miles in , I started to turn around and got stuck so I had to go 2 miles further to find a flatter spot, and thats all we rode , michele just couldn't steer, but had I been with someone who could atlas stay in my tracks we would have had a blast. there was no grooming and when I got back to my truck a sheriff was there getting ready to x country ski and he told me that there would be no more grooming this year, that the groomer is broke down and wont get repaired until the spring melt, that it will stay stuck in the snow.I didn't get the guys name but he is the one that patrols that area. nice guy. I will post a few photos later. that was a long trip for 8 miles total. oh well it was my first time in that area so that was cool.

Thanks for the post skimike. Where did you unload? On the Kern River side or the Kennedy side?

    Thanks,
    Roy

2 miles in the road turns right and there is another road to the left , I hesitated and started to turn around then decided not to but it was too late , it only took 15 min to dig out, I went ahead and rode my sled a total of 4 miles in then turned around and rode back , then I took my wifes sled to the same spot and turned it around

Actually the trails are between the Kern river. There is an upper and lower. The upper is at Kenndy meadows and the lower is by Hwy 99 thru Kernville.

Both rivers go into Lake Isabella.
